The Trading Post on main street also has a museum with all kinds of stuffed animals. Jon has never seen a real life moose so this is the closest he'll get until hopefully we get to Yellowstone.

Road Trip to my hometown of Roundup, Yellowstone, and Utah

The Vault, this is the pizza restaurant my family owned in Roundup, MT where I grew up for 8 years of my young life.
This is the famous hanging tree on main street. This tree actually gets changed semi frequently as the old tree dies and becomes unsafe. But it's the symbol and story that is most important.
This is the "R" mountain. I used to hike up the the R where you can see all the way down main street of Roundup.
This is the house my dad built out in the country on Horsethief Creek Road. My two older brothers, David and Darin, had the left side of the upstairs and I had the right side all to myself :)
This is where I went to junior high and part of high school.
Roundup High School
This is the rope swing on the river that we would swing from into the brown water.
Because we no longer live in MT and have no family there we don't get to visit his grave very often but surprisingly it was pretty well maintained.
We visited my late brother's grave to clean it up and make it look nice.
Because we had been living in Canada we didn't have cell phones so we kept in touch with those expecting us via phone booths. Luckily they still had some barely functioning enough to hear the person on the other end.
We happened to be visiting during Roundup's 100th birthday.
Happy Birthday!
But we got to see Montana's famous big sky and it was beautiful.
Turns out it was a 50 mile dirt/gravel road that never seemed to end!
As we continued on in our journey I decided it was my turn to drive. As I followed the GPS directions it led me to a dirt road that I just thought was a short cut.
Just as we were about to enter Yellowstone National Park I saw this dog just chillin on this ATV. I thought it was funny and cute so I took a picture.
We saw all kinds of interesting things.
Beautiful waterfall
There were plenty of bison to see, sometimes they got in our way.
I wasn't so thrilled about the smell, but I suppose it looked cool.
The sky was so gorgeous!
The Grand Tetons
This is the sunset as we were driving into Utah.
Our nephew, Max, had so much fun with Uncle Jon.
So adorable.

But we didn't mind because he's a sweetheart. Here he is lying down with my mom.
We went to the beautiful Cardston, Alberta temple. Jon thought the first session was at 7:30am so we got up a 4:45 and drove the 2 hours to get there and found out the first session wasn't until 9am. So we took a nap in the car in the parking lot.

Life as pseudo-Canadians

I worked in the office while Jon was a technician. I would often times leave the door open to let fresh air in but I'd get little rascals like this guy squeaking and making all kinds of trouble.
This is in the office that became my domain for the whole summer, the boys often played foos basketball while I had to answer the phones.
Jon LOVES growing a mustache much to my disgust but I let him grow it out for a little while to try and get it out of his system. He thinks he looks sooooo good... I would say otherwise.
We went to the Calgary Zoo and were amused by the tiny little guy and his older sister, mom, and silverback dad in the background.
These are just a few of the Canadians we worked with.
We had to stay in a hotel our last week in Canada, but I wasn't complaining because we had a pool with a slide, a hot tub, and hot continental breakfast each morning.
Our last day in the great Canada we went to Boston Pizza with some of our friends/co workers.
